If you are ever looking for a picturise spot in the heart of the Australian outback to have your school camp, look no further than Wambiana. For 4 years, Music students from Charters Towers State High School travelled out to the station, run by the Lyon’s family, for a 3 day of intensive music workshop and outback activities.
Michelle and Michael are truly remarkable hosts, providing us with endless support throughout our stay. The facilities were amazing and meals fit for kings and queens. Their son, Connor led all the outback activities from milking the cow, hypnotising chickens and catching a pig. He had the kids entertained and they all came away with a wonderful outback experience.
Since moving away from Charters, I am yet to find a place that has come close to Wambiana.
