Welcome to Wambiana

Experience Outback Station life on Wambiana Station - a family-owned, working cattle station in North Queensland, located less than 3 hours drive from Townsville, or 1 hour drive from Charters Towers. At Wambiana, you’ll develop a genuine insight into what it means to live, work and raise a family in the Australian bush, whilst doing so sustainably, generation after generation.

Outback Stays

Since 1993, The Lyons family have been providing unforgettable outback experiences for groups at Wambiana Station, home to five generations of their family. They cater for school groups, university/tertiary groups, tour groups and special interest groups. Wambiana is also equipped to host workshops in air conditioned comfort, surrounded by the striking landscape of the Australian bush, and provided with genuine country hospitality.
