Arriving at Wambiana Station, we were greeted by three generations of the Lyons’ family who made us feel immediately at home. Their generous hospitality and fabulous home-cooked meals were loved by all; seconds were always gratefully received. The beautiful homestead, original buildings and superb natural surroundings were a peaceful backdrop for our Year 8 Camp, and the variety of activities on offer had our girls engaged throughout. They were excited to be able to milk a cow and they had lots of fun on the hayride to the Station’s Dam but the favourite of many was being able to pregnancy test a cow, something that was new to all.  Cuddling piglets and playing with the family dog were also highlights of our stay and many of the girls excelled at whip cracking after Michael gave them a few pointers. There are so many wonderful things we could say about our stay and we would thoroughly recommend Wambiana Station to those looking for an authentic farm experience but I think the fact that we can’t wait to go again in 2018 really says it all.
